Free FAQ Schema Generator
Turn the questions and answers on your page into valid FAQPage JSON-LD. Type them in, copy the markup, paste it into the page. Everything runs in your browser.
FAQPage JSON-LD
Add at least one question and answer.
Every question and answer must also appear as visible text on the page.
What FAQ schema is
FAQ schema is structured data, written in JSON-LD, that marks up a list of questions and their answers using the schema.org FAQPage, Question and Answer types. It tells machines exactly where each question starts and which text answers it, instead of leaving them to infer it from headings and paragraphs.
The generator produces one FAQPage object with a mainEntity array: each entry has the question as name and the answer in acceptedAnswer.text. Empty rows are skipped.
Rich results changed; the markup still has a job
In August 2023 Google limited FAQ rich results to well-known government and health sites, and in May 2026 stopped showing them in Search altogether. The markup is still valid schema.org and still machine-readable.
For AI search, what counts is the content itself: questions phrased the way people ask, each followed by a direct, self-contained answer. That structure is easy to retrieve and quote. FAQ markup reinforces it by making the question–answer pairs explicit. Write the visible FAQ first; add the schema second.
Guidelines to follow
- Mark up only questions and answers that are visible on the page, word for word.
- Use it for a list of questions you answer — not for forums where users post answers (that's
QAPage). - Don't use FAQ markup for advertising copy. Answers should inform.
- Keep each answer self-contained: an engine may quote it without the surrounding page.
- Test the live page with the schema validator after publishing.
FAQ
Questions
Does FAQ schema still work in 2026?+
It's valid and machine-readable, but Google no longer shows FAQ rich results (they were limited in 2023 and removed from Search in May 2026). Its value is clearer structure for machines, not a visual snippet.
How many questions should I include?+
As many as the page genuinely answers. Three to ten is typical. Every question must be visible on the page; don't add questions just for the markup.
Can answers contain links or HTML?+
Google allows a limited set of HTML tags in answer text, including links, lists and bold. Plain text is safest and is what this generator outputs.
Can I have FAQ schema on several pages?+
Yes, as long as each page has its own questions. Repeating the same FAQ block across many pages adds nothing and can look like spam.
