Free Open Graph Preview

See how your link will look before you share it. Enter a URL for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and chat-app previews built from its Open Graph and Twitter tags, plus a list of what's missing.

How link previews are built

An AI-readiness audit, check by check · illustrative

When someone pastes your URL into a social network or chat app, that service fetches the page and reads its Open Graph tags: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:site_name. X reads twitter:card and its own twitter:* tags, and falls back to Open Graph for anything missing.

Without these tags each service guesses — often the first image on the page, or none — and the title may be the raw <title> with your brand suffix. This tool reads the same tags from your server HTML and draws the common layouts.

Image guidelines

  • Use 1200×630 px (1.91:1) for Facebook, LinkedIn and X large cards. Keep text and logos away from the edges; some apps crop to square.
  • Use an absolute https URL. Relative paths often fail.
  • Keep the file under a few megabytes and serve it with a normal image content type.
  • Set twitter:card to summary_large_image for the wide image layout on X.

Fixed it, but the old preview still shows?

Platforms cache previews. Facebook's Sharing Debugger and LinkedIn's Post Inspector let you force a refresh; other apps update when their cache expires. For the rest of the head — title, description, canonical, robots — use the meta tag checker.

FAQ

Questions

Do Open Graph tags affect SEO?+

They aren't a Google ranking factor. They control how links look when shared, which affects clicks from social and chat, and some AI interfaces use them when showing a source card.

Why does my preview show no image?+

Usually og:image is missing, relative, blocked by robots.txt or a firewall, or too large. Check that the image URL opens in a private browser window.

Is the preview exactly what each app shows?+

It's an approximation of their current layouts. Each platform changes its design, crops differently and caches its own copy of your page.
