Free SEO Checker

Run a 30-point technical and on-page audit on any URL. Indexing, content, performance, mobile basics, links and structured data — each check says what's wrong and how to fix it.

What the audit covers

An AI-readiness audit, check by check · illustrative
  • Indexing — HTTPS, the HTTP→HTTPS redirect, www vs non-www duplication, canonical tag, meta robots and the X-Robots-Tag header, a sitemap line in robots.txt, and whether missing pages return a real 404.
  • Content — title and description length, a single H1, heading order, word count and image alt attributes.
  • Performance — HTML download time and size, compression, cache headers and render-blocking scripts in the head.
  • Mobile & basics — viewport, charset, page language and favicon.
  • Links — internal link count, links without text and a live check of up to six internal links for 4xx/5xx.
  • Sharing & schema — Open Graph, Twitter card, valid JSON-LD and breadcrumb markup on inner pages.

How scoring works

Every check has a weight; a warning earns half. The grade is the share of points earned: A from 90%, B from 75%, C from 60%, D from 40%. Five checks are marked critical — HTTPS, meta robots, title, H1 and viewport — because failing any one can keep a page out of search or break it on mobile, whatever the rest scores.

Timing is measured from our server, so treat download time as a relative signal, not a Core Web Vitals score. For field data use Google's PageSpeed Insights or Search Console.

SEO and AI search share a foundation

AI answers are assembled from pages that search systems can crawl, index and parse. Google's AI Overviews draw on the regular Google index; other engines run their own crawlers with similar needs. A page that fails the indexing checks here is unlikely to be cited anywhere. Once the basics pass, run the AEO checker for the AI-specific layer: crawler rules for AI bots, llms.txt and content that works without JavaScript.

FAQ

Questions

Is this SEO checker really free?+

Yes. No signup, no limit on audits beyond a basic rate limit to keep the service healthy. It checks one URL at a time.

Why did the audit fail with a 403?+

The site's firewall or bot protection blocked our request. That's common with Cloudflare and similar services. If it's your site, you can allow the check temporarily — and it's worth asking whether the same rule blocks search and AI crawlers.

Does a good score mean I'll rank?+

No. The audit checks technical and on-page hygiene. Rankings also depend on relevance, content quality and links from other sites, which a single-page audit can't measure.
