Improving visibility
Action plan
How aeotime's action plan prioritises fixes, content gaps and sources to earn, how content briefs work, and how impact is measured after you mark an action done.
Updated
On this page
The action plan is a prioritised to-do list for getting mentioned in more AI answers. Open it from Action plan in any project. Each action explains why it matters, what to do step by step, and the data behind it.
Categories
| Category | What it covers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Things that make the data better | Connect Search Console, add competitors |
| Technical | Problems that stop AI crawlers reading your pages | robots.txt blocks PerplexityBot; pages render only with JavaScript |
| Content gaps | Prompts where competitors are mentioned and you aren't | "Win the answer for 'best invoicing app for freelancers'" |
| Sources to earn | Third-party sites engines cite when you're missing | "Get mentioned on g2.com" |
| Engines | An engine where you're far less visible than elsewhere | "Close the gap on Perplexity" |
| Reputation | Answers that describe you negatively | "Review answers that describe you negatively" |
Priority and effort
- Priority (high, medium, low) weighs how much the issue limits visibility and how widespread it is. A technical issue on 2 of 30 pages is ranked lower than one on every page.
- Effort — Quick fix, A few hours or Project — helps you plan.
Open items are sorted by priority, so the top of the list is always the best next step.
Content briefs
Content gap actions have Generate content brief. The brief includes:
- The page to improve, or "New page"
- A suggested title and a 40–70 word opening that answers the prompt directly
- An outline of sections with the points to cover
- Facts to include, with anything you must confirm marked
[confirm] - Follow-up questions for an FAQ section
- Structured data to add and third-party sources to earn
Use Copy as Markdown to send it to a writer. Then check the finished page with Page test.
Marking actions done and measuring impact
Click Mark done when you've shipped a fix. aeotime then compares how often you're mentioned in the four weeks before that date with the answers collected since:
- For a content gap — on that prompt
- For an engine gap — on that engine
- For everything else — across all prompts
You'll see it on the action, for example mentioned in 12% → 38% of answers ▲ 26 pts. Impact appears after at least three new answers have been collected. If an issue disappears from the data completely, the action stays in Done marked Resolved.
AI answers move slowly and vary between runs, so give changes a few weeks before judging them.
Ready-to-paste fixes
At the bottom of the page you'll find drafts built from your brand profile and latest site scan:
- llms.txt — a Markdown summary of your site and key pages
- Organization schema — JSON-LD for your homepage (add your logo URL and official profiles)
- robots.txt rules — allow rules for AI search and answer crawlers, with training crawlers listed separately so you can choose
Questions
How often does the action plan change?
It's rebuilt every time you open it, from the latest runs, site audit and crawler data. New actions appear after each weekly run and audit.
What happens when I dismiss an action?
It moves to the Dismissed tab and stops counting toward your progress. You can move it back to your to-do list any time.
Are content briefs written by AI?
Yes. Briefs are drafted by a language model from your brand profile, the answers engines gave and the sources they cited. Facts only you can confirm, like prices, are marked [confirm].
